Task from the client company

Automation of the recruitment process and independent verification of the language skills of candidates for any position. Testing was required for 7 languages in 4 competencies.

Solution

✅ Developed test combinations for different positions depending on the required skills:
1️⃣ placement + writing
2️⃣ placement + speaking
 combinations of tests in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Hungarian*. *since 0, a Hungarian language test has been developed: placement, writing, speaking
✅expanded the anti-fraud system at the request of the company, getting not only the most reliable results, but also information about attempts to cheat or hack the answers 😉

Client

A global product IT company whose main product is an international job search website used by millions of people in 67 countries every day.

Solution

Registration of the company and its employees on the website Before registering the entire recruiting team, a focus group was created. The recruiters tested the test options we offered (placement+writing, placement+speaking) and the platform’s functionality in practice. After the recruiting team approved the test combinations, they created separate rooms for each employee with access for the head of the department.

Customisation of the solution After the pilot project (based on one type of job to test English language skills), the solution was customised:
  • all notifications
  • language of communication
  • reporting systems
In the course of the project, we received a request to expand the capabilities of the anti-fraud functions:
  • blocking spell check plugins
  • inability to copy and paste text
  • keeping a count of the number of exits from the platform page

Testing process The placement and writing tests were conducted online on the T2S platform. Each employee had personal access to a personal account. All results were saved in personal accounts. The speaking test was conducted with each employee individually in the form of a meeting in ZOOM. The assessment was conducted by a tutor according to a single assessment standard. The process management and all communication with the respondents was carried out by the TEST2STAFF support manager. We are the right hand of the customer and know how to save the department’s time 🙂

Project result

Let’s start with the numbers: we have been cooperating with one of the company’s branches for more than a year, during this period 253 unique respondents have taken the test, and 346 tests have been completed in total. In the future, we plan to expand the use of the T2S service for the customer company.
The company has representative offices around the world, and therefore needs employees with knowledge of more than just English. A total of 7 language tests were required. One of them was Hungarian. This solution was not available in a ready-made form, but we quickly started developing it. And yes, by the time the project started, the Hungarian testing (placement, writing, speaking) was ready.

We created test sets for the company for candidates for various positions that required advanced speaking or writing skills for the future position. Of course, in all 7 languages! We delved into anti-fraud and provided statistics on cheating.
